Solutions Director & Co‑Creator of Iris at Green13
Chris is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA C.Act) with nearly 25 years of experience across the European insurance and financial services sector. His career spans actuarial consulting, audit, M&As, software development, and large-scale systems transformation, giving him a unique perspective on how to modernise modelling practices and tools.
At Green13, Chris brings together deep consulting insight with full-stack development expertise. He has co-led the design and evolution of the Iris platform, shaping its low-code product logic engine, modern intuitive interface, and suite of data transformation and automation tools. He also contributed significantly to its high-performance architecture, leveraging AVX and GPU acceleration. Additionally, Chris played a key role in enabling cloud-native HPC scalability. More recently, his focus has expanded to AI-assisted model generation and automation, continually pushing the boundaries of what actuaries can achieve with modern technology and fresh thinking.
About Green13 & Iris
Green13 is an independent actuarial software company based in the UK, founded in 2013 by Chris and Rob Green with a mission to reinvent life insurance modelling. Its flagship platform, Iris, is a high-performance, low-code engine built specifically around the needs of reporting actuaries. Designed for flexibility, transparency and speed, Iris supports a full range of actuarial use cases from product pricing and valuation to business planning, across deterministic and stochastic modes, with both period-by-period (ALM-style) and policy-by-policy projections.
Iris is now in use at over 60 client sites across 24 countries and four continents. It has successfully replaced four major legacy platforms, with two more transitions in the pipeline. Clients using Iris have seen dramatic improvements in run-times and automation. This allows modelling teams to do more, up to many thousands of times faster, and with greater ease than anything believed possible.
